A Letter to my son

I have noticed that a few of the blogs that I am following on a daily basis have posts that are letters to their unborn babies or babies or toddlers, and I thought this was a lovely idea for my boys and a great way to look back on memories when they grow up… So today, I start writing letters to my darling boys.

Dear Mason,

I cannot believe how time has flown by. I cannot believe that you will be starting “big school” next year and turning 4 in January. Where has the time gone?

It felt like yesterday I was so nervous about meeting you for the first time and finally being a Mom. Meeting our first born son, a tiny little baby boy, fair blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and giving us the biggest fright of our lives by having blue hands and feet.

By saying, that day changed our lives are not enough my boy. You have brought so much joy to our little family, changing us from being a married couple of only two, to a Family of three.  You have brought so much joy and happiness (as well as sleepless nights and exhausting days) into our lives.

You have changed Daddy and Me in so many ways – all good of course. You have brought our families closer together and anchored our marriage in this great bond (YOU) we get to share together.

We might have struggled with getting you into a routine for almost two years, but when I got the hang of it, you jumped in and showed me what a good boy you could be. We have had our ups and down. No one can tell you about terrible two’s and having a boy threenager like we can. But everything you put on our path, just makes us stronger and love you even more.

You are truly the spitting image of your father and the apple-of-his-eye. I wish you know how and what we would do for you my boy. You are our world. And we will love you even if you give us grieve.

When you smile, you light up the world. It melts my heart every time I hear you say: “I love you Mommy” or when you just come up to me to give me a hug for no reason at all. When you laugh, we all laugh, it is so contagious in the cutest way imaginable.

I love the way you great strangers and brighten up their days. I love the way you always say please and thank you for any and everything. I love the way you love so much on your brother that I have to ask you to be careful as you are much bigger than him.

What more could parents ask for? You are an amazing little boy with so much love to give.

I will love you till my last breath – always and forever.

Love Mommy
